The Teardown

A free website audit. Three fixes, one page, no charge.

Send us your URL. In three business days you get one page: the one thing costing you the most, and the three fixes we'd make first — ranked, with rough effort and cost on each. No pitch, no obligation.

  1. The five-second read

What a stranger understands about you before they scroll, written down verbatim. Rarely flattering, always the most useful line on the page.

  2. The one thing costing you most

Named, with the reason behind it. Not a category like “your UX” — a specific thing, in a specific place, and what it's doing to your numbers.

  3. Three moves, in order

Ranked by impact, with rough effort and a cost range on each, written so you can act on them with us or without us.

  4. Where a free read stops

The honest edges of a thirty-minute read: what we couldn't see from the outside, and what going deeper would take. No hard sell.

No cost, no obligation

Who we build with

Enterprise, storefront, and nonprofit. Same standard, every time.

Enterprise

Your site ships by committee

A quarter of numbers says something's off and eleven stakeholders have eleven theories. We name the one that matters, in language your board reads without translation.

Small business

You built it yourself, and it worked

Or someone's cousin did, and it's carried you further than anyone expected. That's real demand with a storefront that hasn't caught up to it. Those are the best teardowns we write.

Nonprofit

Trust and donations, same screen

Your site has to earn belief and then ask for money, in that order, in about eight seconds. We show you the place it's asking before it has earned.

Our stance

Most audits hand you two hundred problems and no priorities. You get three fixes, in order, on one page. Because the hard part was never finding problems.

We use tools where tools are honest: speed data, crawl checks, contrast math. Every judgment on your page is made by a person with their name on the document, and the document says plainly which parts came from where. AI sits at our table. It doesn’t run the haus.

Is the website audit really free?

Yes, and there is no version of this where an invoice appears later. We take twelve a month because a person writes every one. If the month is full, we'll tell you which month you're in rather than quietly sitting on it.

Why only one page?

Because a crawler can hand you two hundred problems in four seconds and it helps nobody. Naming the three that matter is the actual skill, and it is the one we're showing you. One page also gets read, forwarded, and argued about. A forty-page PDF gets saved for later.

What does the free website audit include?

One page with four parts: a verbatim five-second first-impression read, the single thing costing you the most and why, three fixes ranked by impact with rough effort and cost on each, and an honest note on what a free read could not see from the outside.

How long does it take?

Three business days from the moment your form lands. If your site is unusually large, an ecommerce catalog or a multi-site setup, we'll email you a revised date within one business day rather than miss the original one.

Do I have to hire you afterward?

No. The page is written so you can hand it to your in-house team or your current agency and act on it without us. Some people do exactly that. That's a fair outcome and we knew it when we offered it.

How is this different from a free automated SEO report?

An automated report tells you what is broken. It cannot tell you what your homepage makes a stranger feel, whether your positioning is holding, or which of 214 flagged issues is the one actually costing you money this quarter. A person answers those three questions on your page.

What if my site isn't built yet?

Send whatever exists: a staging link, a competitor you admire, or just the business. We'll write a build read instead of a teardown, covering the three things the site has to do first and the order to build them in.

Do you audit ecommerce sites and web apps?

Yes. Ecommerce reads look at the cart and checkout path first. Product and web app reads look at onboarding and activation. Note it in the last form field and the right person gets assigned.

Who actually writes it?

A named person from the haus, across brand, web, UX, or search depending on what your site needs. Their name is on the page. We are a nationwide remote collective, so you get the person best suited to your sector, not whoever is closest to an office.
