Capabilities / Brand & Identity

Branding that holds weight.

Define. Sharpen. Hold the line.

Brand strategy, identity systems, and creative direction for companies tired of looking like everyone else in their category. We build the foundation first, then the face that proves it.

A HAUS XXIV branding engagement covers brand strategy, identity systems, creative direction, and packaging or print. Most run eight to twelve weeks and produce a positioning statement, a full logo and type system, verified color contrast pairs, and brand guidelines documented for a team that was not in the room.

Most rebrands change the logo and nothing else.

Six months later the deck looks nicer and the business feels exactly the same. Sales still explains what the company does from scratch on every call. The team still describes the mission four different ways. Nobody actually knows what the brand stands for, because nobody ever wrote it down in a way that could be defended.

01 / WHAT WE BUILD

Four capabilities. One system.

Positioning, narrative, and market architecture. This is the foundation every other decision stands on, and it is the part most agencies rush so they can get to the fun visual work. We do the opposite. We interview your leadership, your team, and your customers. We read the category you are competing in until we can name the thing everyone else is saying and find the space they left open.

WHAT SHIPS

  • Stakeholder and customer interview findings
  • Competitive and category audit
  • Positioning statement and strategic narrative
  • Messaging architecture by audience
  • Brand architecture for multi-product companies
  • Naming and verbal identity when the name needs to change
Go deeper on brand strategy

Logo systems, visual language, and the design DNA underneath both. Identity is the face of conviction, and a face has to work everywhere. On a phone at arm's length. On a building. On a form your customer fills out at eleven at night. We build systems, not artifacts, which means the identity still works three years from now when someone who never met us needs to make a new thing with it.

WHAT SHIPS

  • Primary logo, responsive marks, and full lockup system
  • Type system with licensing sorted and documented
  • Color system with WCAG contrast pairs verified
  • Grid, layout, and photographic direction
  • Iconography and graphic language
  • Brand guidelines built for people who were not in the room
See how identity meets interface

Somebody has to protect the bold idea from the slow death of compromise. That is this job. Creative direction is the vision keeper across every touchpoint, every review, every launch, including the eleventh-hour meeting where someone suggests making it a little safer.

WHAT SHIPS

  • Campaign and creative platform development
  • Art direction across photo, film, and motion
  • Launch strategy, internal and external
  • Design review and quality governance
  • Ongoing retained direction for in-house teams
See creative direction in motion

The most powerful brand moments still happen in the physical world. A package someone opens on their kitchen counter. A booth someone walks into and does not want to leave. A printed piece with real weight in the hand.

WHAT SHIPS

  • Packaging design with dielines and production files
  • Environmental, signage, and wayfinding systems
  • Trade show and event activation design
  • Print collateral and editorial design
  • Vendor sourcing and press checks

02 / NO AMBIGUITY

Identity

  1. Logo suite in vector, raster, and web formats

03 / HOW A BRAND GETS BUILT

Five phases. Eight to twelve weeks.

You will never wonder where the project stands. Every phase ends with something real in your hands and a decision you have to make before we move.

01 / 05

  1. 01

    Immersion

We interview leadership, staff, and customers. We read the category, the analytics, and the competitors you are tired of losing to. We look at everything the brand has already made and find the gap between what you meant and what landed.

Ends with: A findings document and a written problem statement.

  2. 02

    Position

We turn the research into a claim. One position, defended in writing, with the reasoning attached. This is the phase where the vague ambition becomes a specific thing you can say out loud without flinching.

Ends with: Positioning, narrative, and messaging architecture, approved.

  3. 03

    Design

Two directions, both built from the approved position, both pressure tested against one question. Is this bold enough to be remembered? You see the thinking behind each direction, never a mood board and a shrug.

Ends with: One chosen direction with written rationale.

  4. 04

    System

The chosen direction becomes a system. Every mark, every color pair, every type ramp, every rule for what happens when someone needs to make something we never imagined. Documented for the person who joins your team next year.

Ends with: Full asset library and brand guidelines.

  5. 05

    Launch and hand off

We train your team live and record it. We build the templates for the things you make every week. Then we stay close through rollout, because the first ninety days is when a new brand either takes hold internally or quietly gets ignored.

Ends with: Recorded training, template kit, and a 90-day check-in.

04 / WHY THIS HAUS

Three reasons, and the code behind them.

PRINCIPLE 01

Boring is a betrayal of the craft

Every concept gets pressure tested before you ever see it.

Work that is merely competent never leaves the haus. Each direction gets held against one question, and if it is not bold enough to be remembered it goes back to the desk. You review two strong directions, not five safe ones with a favorite quietly pre-selected.

PRINCIPLE 02

Educate. Don't dictate.

You get the why, not just the what.

Every recommendation arrives with the reasoning attached, in writing. A brand you understand is a brand you can defend in the rooms we are not in, long after the engagement ends. That is the difference between buying a brand and owning one.

PRINCIPLE 11

Old made dangerous

Heritage is fuel, not a cage.

If you have decades of equity, we do not throw it out to look current. We find what is still load-bearing, sharpen it, and make the familiar dangerous again. Familiar is comfortable. Familiar with teeth is unforgettable.

05 / THE TOOLS

  • Figma
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Illustrator
  • InDesign
  • After Effects
  • Cinema 4D
  • Frontify
  • Fontstand
  • Pantone
  • Sketch
  • Miro
  • Notion

Tools do not make the work. Hands do. We name ours because you should know what you are inheriting when the engagement ends, and because an identity locked inside software your team cannot open is not an asset. It is a hostage situation.

06 / STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Branding questions, answered plainly.

A focused identity refresh for a small business typically runs in the low five figures. A full strategy and identity build for a growing company runs mid five figures. Enterprise brand architecture work goes higher because the scope genuinely is higher. We give you a real range on the first call, before you have spent anything, and if the number does not fit we will tell you rather than sell you a thinner version that will not work.

Eight to twelve weeks for most engagements. Faster is possible when the scope is tight and your decision-makers are available. Much faster than that usually means somebody skipped the research phase, and that is the phase everything else depends on.

Often no. If the mark still has equity and the real problem is that nobody can explain what you do, you need strategy and a system around the existing mark, not a new logo. We will tell you that on the first call even though the smaller engagement is worth less to us. Selling you work you do not need is a fast way to lose a client we would rather keep for a decade.

You do. Fully, in writing, including source files, editable vectors, and font licensing transferred into your name. No retainer required to access your own identity. Some agencies hold the working files hostage. That is not a business model we respect.

Yes, and not as charity work. Community is non-negotiable in the Code of 24. The scope changes with the budget. The standard does not.

07 / KEEP GOING

Tired of looking like everyone else?

Tell us what your brand is supposed to stand for and where that message is falling apart. We will tell you straight what it would take to fix it.
